Overview

Nestled in the lively heart of Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, Restaurant KWB stands as a cherished local coffee shop famed for its comforting Malaysian fare, particularly its pork noodles. With a humble ambiance typical of traditional Chinese kopitiams, it caters to both everyday diners and devoted regulars seeking authentic flavors and generous portions.

The star attraction here is undoubtedly the Dried Meehoon Pork Noodle and the Pork Noodle Soup. These dishes embody the essence of the neighborhood’s culinary vibe—simple, hearty, and lovingly prepared by an experienced cook known affectionately by patrons. Generous servings of tender pork, well-balanced broth, and perfectly textured noodles make each bowl deeply satisfying. Many customers—including longtime fans—appreciate the care in every portion, noting the quick service and consistent quality despite recent relocations within Pudu.

Beyond the noodle staples, the menu features succulent roasted chicken and aromatic roasted duck options, served without rice but accompanied by crisp cucumber slices and savory sauces, enhancing the main protein’s rich flavor. These dishes offer a substantial yet approachable alternative for those craving traditional roasted meats in a casual setting.

Restaurant KWB’s location in Lorong Brunei 2 places it at a crossroads of local morning rituals and casual eat-outs. The space embraces the classic kopitiam atmosphere, encouraging a communal dining experience for families, workers, and culinary explorers alike. Its appeal lies in providing a straightforward, no-frills environment focused on honest cooking rather than elaborate décor.

While the beverage selection includes local staples like Kopi Ais and herbal teas, some visitors find these options less remarkable, suggesting that the real draw is the food itself. Still, the overall experience benefits from friendly service and a palpable sense of heritage, making it a favored spot for those yearning for the familiar taste of Malaysian pork noodles.

For locals and tourists seeking authentic flavors in Kuala Lumpur’s bustling Pudu district, Restaurant KWB offers a genuine snapshot of Malaysian coffee shop culture. It remains a highly recommended stop for anyone craving traditional pork noodles, expertly prepared and served with a side of warm, unpretentious hospitality.

Probably the best Pork Noodles in Pudu area. They used to be at Pudu Utama coffee shop but moved here with regular patrons following suit. A regular bowl is RM10, and I would recommend adding an egg for RM1 extra. I usually have the dry kway teow version but the Min Sin soup version is pretty good too. The uncle making the pork noodles is super fast and efficient and you usually don’t have to wait too long for your noodles to arrive. Highly recommended. The Cantonese Fried Noodles from the Dai Chow stall was decent and had some wok hei. Chicken and Pork Rice is quite decent too with generous portion of rice and meat. My colleague had the Kung Po Chicken with rice and said that it was good. A stall selling Char Kway Teow has newly opened and I’m waiting to try their Petai Fried Kway Teow. The stall selling Myanmarese food is worth a try too. I had my first taste of Mohinga here and it was very tasty and flavourful. They give you fish sauce, a wedge of lime and chilli flakes for you to tweak the taste to your personal preference but the broth was good enough to eat even without adding anything. Besides the fish flakes in the broth, there’s a whole hard boiled egg, some fried and crispy croutons (Yau Char Kueh) and a sprinkling of coriander added for freshness. It’s not as tart or spicy as our local Assam Laksa but I kinda like this mild version. It’s something I’d gladly have for breakfast regularly. This gets a Highly Recommended as well. Drinks are somewhat expensive and not great. Stick with Chinese tea.

Pretty hot even though it was morning, place was around half full when we went on Saturday. The pork noodles are definitely as good as they say though the loh shu fun is not as smooth as I like it.
